Hatyai, Thailand pt. I

For those who didn't know, I went to Hatyai, Thailand for a trip with the bf, mummy and her group of friends. We departed on Friday night from mummy's friend's house; a bus fully loaded with 42 (more or less) passengers. I wouldn't say that it was the most enjoyable ride ever, because let's face it, sitting in the bus for 8 hours and having to sleep in a sitting position is not comfortable at all. Nonetheless, we stopped by Ipoh for their famous beansprout chicken before heading to Thailand. Yes, supper at 12am ._.

We reached the Thailand embassy at about 5am (I think so. Because I remember waking up to go to the loo) but it wasn't opened yet, so we remained sleeping. The tour guide woke us up once the embassy started operating. Thankfully though, that we were so early. One of the first few buses I would say. Otherwise we had to spend time lining up to check-in.

After everything was settled, our first stop in Thailand was of course, a chicken rice shop for our breakfast. Yes, chicken rice again ._.

BUT! They serve pork as well and knowing us Chinese, it is a must for us to order roast pork and char siu - my loves !

Despite having my 'love' served in front of me, I couldn't eat much. First, I'm not hungry yet. Second, I'm not the kind that takes breakfast u.u What more, it was a superbly oily breakfast -_- There are some foods I would prefer having in the morning and for lunch as well as dinner. I don't like too oily foods during breakfast. Well, not that I take breakfast very often but yeah.

Oh look! What a cute car plate!

I wonder why Malaysia doesn't allow these kinds of car plates. It would be so much cuter no?

Our next destination was.... well, I forgot the name but it was somewhat a mini market that sells a lot a lot of jewelries and also souvenirs.

No doubt, the aunties were all attracted to the cheap golds and diamonds there. Even mummy bought a bracelet and I got myself a pair of earrings. Kekeke.

Before leaving the place, we managed to order a bowl of Coconut Bird Nest. It was so cheap and delicious that I was so tempted to order another bowl but unfortunately, we were out of time T_T One thing I don't like about group tour is that we are given limited time for every place and even if we had nothing to do in a particular place, we still had to wait for everyone else u.u

Another destination, which you can clearly see, is a place that sells snacks. Not my interest at all hence, I went back to the bus with the bf. And then I got shocked when mummy came back to the bus with one (or was it two?) big bag of snacks. She can really shop I tell you ._.

Aaaand the last stop before heading to our hotel - the temple! Well, I've always believed myself to be a free-thinker although I'm supposed to be a Buddhist, but our family did not really practice any sort of religions, hence I'm free to eat beef all I want. And it's one of my favourite foods because beef tastes so good you can't deny it T_T

Anyway! No harm taking pictures while the mother does the praying right? :D Although I did too, because she told me to.

The three Gods, whom, to be honest, I don't know of except for the middle one, Kuan Yin Ma, right? Right?! :D

Then they have this birds for sale which you have to free them later on. only 100baht, which is RM10. So yes, why not free some birdies?! They look so poor cooped up in the cages :( If I could I would buy all and release them T_T

The birds, eager to be freed :DD

The bell, which you are supposed to make a wish and then hit it. Do it three times repeatedly, which means you have three wishes! Well, I did hit the bell too, but I wished for.... nothing ._. Honestly, I never knew what to wish for whenever there are prayers or some sort like this, because it seems unfair of me to wish for anything if I'm a free-thinker like what I've claimed to be. Besides that, I can't be wishing to be wealthy, can I? These kinds of wishes just don't come true so easily.

The view from the temple. Very much like KL, no?

The dragon head, and there's the bf and mummy posing by the tongue.

This is Choi San Yeh, right right?! :D

The 12 Zodiac animals ! Excuse me but I tend to get excited whenever I see animals, be it real or fake ones like these :P Looking at them all together reminds me of an Anime called Fruits Basket, which talks about the Zodiac animals.

Tuk tuk!

If you think KL is so noisy during CNY with all the fire crackers, this is worst. It's damn loud and long and a lot of customers keeps buying fire crackers T_T Noisy max!

The remnants. I wonder if there's anyone who actually cleans it up or not hmmm.

Yup, look how long it is!

After a long, long day, we were finally sent back to our hotel!

No, we did not arrive at night. It's just that I took this picture at night instead of daytime.

The view from mummy's room. She shared a room with another lady.

Our (bf and I) room <3

After dinner, it was our free time to do whatever we like! Some of them went to see the various performances, whereas the three of us of course rather walk around and do some shopping. Because I am uninterested in the performances especially the Tiger Thai Girl Show -___-

Their famous Mango Sticky rice! Apparently this stall is very famous because by the time we came back for it, it's all sold out T_T So we had to get it from another stall.

No idea what is this but it looks too disgusting to try.

Cute keychains! 4 for 100baht (RM10) only! At first I bought only 4, but at the end of the trip, I bought 16 of them >_> Cos they were so cute I couldn't resist buying them T_T

I assume that we've walked very far, far away because we found ourselves lost.. in the middle of nowhere ._. We can't possibly read the signboards because obviously we do not know Thai words, so we simply walked here and there, to where is brightest. And thank God we made it back, safe and sound T_T

I'm not sure what are those money trees for, but mummy said something about donation for the flood victims in Bangkok. But anyway, did you notice a policeman on the left?! He actually joined in with the group of people and they looked like they are having so much of fun. I look at them in awe because it was my first time seeing a policeman being so friendly and all smiley to their citizens. In here, Malaysia? Pft. All the policemen look so fierce and they don't even smile at you for a millisecond as though you owe them a fortune or they want to beat you up. Very scary looking. Makes me so envy looking at them.

Finally! We went back to our hotel and before mummy went back to her room, we tried the Mango Sticky rice and damn, was it good T_T

I'm so missing it right now u.u

Here are some of the things we bought! :DD

Was desperately looking for a pair of home sandals ever since my Hello Kitty one torn. Although these are not as nice as my Hello Kitty one, but they're much, much cheaper!

The four voodoo keychains :D Cute right?!

We brought an empty luggage bag to fill our shopping goods and look, only 1 day and it's already 'bloated' ._.

So, how did we manage to bring back all our shopping goods from the second day? That shall remain as wonders until the next update. Hohoho.

Will update on pt. II after I'm done with the filtering of photos! Gawd, there's 462 photos for the second day itself. Mad or what?! It'll take me some time to filter them T_T
